Day 14.5

16 Oct

As promised, the photo of my new haircut. The idea here is that it is less shocking to the psyche to see little bits of hair dust on the pillow, rather than the longer locks. I’m digging the look for all its worth.

I have been overwhelmed with my Facebook birthday greetings and well wishes. Had to step away for a bit and get my head back on straight.

Having finished Ruth last night, I sat down with Isaiah 51. Two Augusts ago, my life was just about as perfect and lovely as I could imagine. My little family was taking a cross country journey and I was loving every bit of it. I was also getting my head ready to teach a ladies retreat with my good friend, Kathy Tope.
I took advantage of our relaxing road trip and read Isaiah. I decided that Isaiah 51-54 were too beautiful to do anything more than just memorize them and present them as my lesson.
The month after we returned home, a piece of my life crumbled and my heart became broken. Still, God gave me the grace to continue and learn the verses to share. They began to feed my heart. They healed my heart.
The following August, I learned that HSCT was available for me, and I became certain that it was God’s time to heal me. I returned to my verse work and, oh, how my soul was fed.
And now, today, on my birthday, I sit and transcribe these precious words to my journal and see that, while they once gave my soul the quiet calm of knowing that I was on God’s radar, they now explode in my spirit with, “The time is NOW. You are healed. Your heart is healed. Your home is healed. Your God has defended you. You never had need to fear man and now you KNOW that is your truth.”
I would type it all out for you now, if I had the energy, but I can at least beg of you to go and find the nearest Bible you can and flip to Isaiah 51-54. It’ll only take you a minute to read it and I hope you see what I see there. You are witnessing in my life something much bigger than a simple cure for a rotten disease. You are witnessing a Father smiling on His daughter and it is a feeling more glorious than I could describe. I love you all. Mean it.

NOW you look like a true Russian 🙂
Praying for you daily!! May blessings overlow each and everyday for you and your family.
This mornings prayer response for Ps. 22…
Lord, whenever I declare my pain, help me also to declare my faith. May I trust YOU when I am on a cross far smaller than Yours, even as You trusted in the Father’s care. You love me very much to die in such a way for me. I just want to thank you.

Okay, I’ll read the Isaiah stuff. But what I REALLY want to know is the contact info for that sweet Russky orderly who popped up in the video the day you went upstairs. Love from Aunt Lisa

She works on the second floor where Eric is staying and he is trying very hard to simply learn to pronounce her name. I will let you know if he progresses further. She, among most all of the nurses here, have been angels to me during my stay.

You are a true inspiration to the world Amy! It’s always in God’s time, never our time, but he seems to show favor on you and may His healing continue to warm your soul. Love you, Theresa Theroux

That beautiful story you had us read was most perfectly written for us! I felt it fits so many IF we will allow it to settle in and just think on it. Reading it from biblegateway.com, you can read it in many different versions and get lots out of it that way. Some versions are easier to read than others and that helps.
Amy, thanks for sharing that with us and I know He is with you for His word says so:
    Isaiah 41:10

    New King James Version (NKJV)

    10 Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
    I will strengthen you,
    Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
